The Destiny Africa Children’s Choir from Uganda is coming to New England in the Spring of 2012.  Wellspring knows first hand that it takes a lot of dedicated individuals to achieve a successful tour, as our congregation was key to the success of the choir’s 2009 tour.  This year’s tour manager, Mary Lou Lamontagne, is seeking help from Wellspring.  Please check out the specific needs below and contact Mary Lou if you are interested in being involved.   Alternatively, you may send your inquiries to our Wellspring liaison and former tour manager Joellen Putnam at joellenputnam@yahoo.com.

OPPORTUNITIES TO CONSIDER:

Office work, in your own home – Organize paperwork for each booking that is made by emailing the booking form to the venue. Track all forms sent and returned. Compile a neat and comprehensive list of information to be used to set up our daily tour schedules.

Business sponsorship solicitations – Solicit businesses for sponsorships and donations for our upcoming tour. All business sponsorships/donations received will be mentioned in our tour brochure.

Provisions for the children – Help with organizing and gathering the necessary clothing and personal items that the children will need when they arrive in March 2012.

Publicity and public awareness– Help to spread the word about our upcoming tour via social media, radio, TV, newspaper, etc.

School/Church leads – Help us to connect with and book concerts at schools, churches and other venues in the area.

Housing needs – Help with organizing local housing for the choir while they are in the area.

Drivers – We are looking for drivers during our tour to help transport the children and equipment to the concert venues. This may be a paid volunteer position.

Transportation research – Need someone to make phone calls to research the options available to us for our transportation needs during the tour.

Merchandise sales – Need people to help us at each concert or school assembly to help us sell our t-shirts, etc.
