Activate the Cure Ministry Moment Follow Up

Joellen Putnam

Thank you Wellspring family for your gracious reception of my new prayer ministry for cancer, ACTIVATE THE CURE, which I informed you about this past Sunday during a ministry moment. I was blessed by your enthusiasm and interest, and especially by the opportunity to pray over the congregation. I asked folks to stand if they had ever been diagnosed with cancer, if they had lost someone to cancer, or if someone they loved had cancer. At both services, about 95% of the congregation stood. It was an emotional moment for me because it profoundly underscored the heartbreaking reality that cancer is ubiquitous. However… we are not without hope! Our God is a mighty and loving God, and cancer is not beyond Him. We are praying in faith for all to be healed and believing for the cure.

Also, I want to thank my amazing Wellspring family for praying in agreement over two of our young men who are currently facing stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. A large group of the body came to the altar to lay hands on Luke Brennan and his family, and the Riley family (who stood in for their son Steven who was not able to attend) to pray for health and life. This was a powerful expression of Christ’s love at it’s finest, and a declaration of faith that cancer will not overcome our next generation of kingdom warriors. Enough is enough!

If you were not at the service, you can learn about ACTIVATE THE CURE by watching our informational video. I encourage everyone to check it out and consider attending our prayer gatherings or inviting someone you know to attend. We welcome anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, and if someone is unable to attend, we encourage friends and family members to come and pray on their behalf.

Our meetings are held every Thursday at The Harold Leever Regional Cancer in Waterbury from 9:00-10:00 a.m., and beginning on November 3, we will be meeting every Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the brand new Hartford Healthcare Cancer Institute in New Britain. With love, hope and gratitude,
Your sister in Christ,
