9th Annual Celebrate Mount Pleasant
Spring has sprung, and so has the planning of our 9th annual Celebrate Mount Pleasant! This year’s event will take place on June 3rd and we are working on many of the same things as years past. As we are always looking for ways to add new elements to the day, this year we are adding a fair!!!!
Similar to the fairs all around Connecticut–but on a much smaller scale–we envision many pop-up tents/booths where Mount Pleasant families can come and receive service type items, education, or fun stuff for the kids. We already have a booth for gardening education and we are currently working on a bike repair/tune up booth. Some other ideas are: face painting, balloon animals, massages, haircuts, etc…. the possibilities are endless! We need your help to make this happen. If you have a skill or talent that you would like to share with others, please let us know.
As you can imagine, the planning for Celebrate Mount Pleasant is immense. Here’s what we are in need of right now to get things under way:
- Group leaders for the Mini Make Overs (the same thing we’ve done for the last 2 years)
One point-person to lead a group of your choosing of 3 to 6 people to work with a family at Mount Pleasant to beautify their home during this one-day event. It entails meeting with the family and shopping for items needed prior to the celebration, then during CMP putting it all together with the family. It’s a great time to have a lot of 1 on 1 with a family in need.
- Fair tent leaders
To set up a specific display and interaction area in a location that will be designated for you to interact, teach, serve, etc. with the residents. Each booth will be unique, but all looking to share the love of Christ in an educational or service aspect. This will take place after lunch for two hours or so.
Please prayerfully consider these two opportunities to serve this wonderful community and let us know you’re interested by emailing email@example.com.
We will be in the cafe after both services on March 26th and April 2nd to take sign ups and answer questions.
