Update from Julie Ozbun
On a Sunday in January I stood so overwhelmed with emotion as many of you joined in a prayer of commissioning to send me off to Cyprus for my first year on staff with Gateways Beyond. I flew home about a week ago and I can hardly begin to express how thankful I am for all of your support and prayers over the last six months!
This year I had the great joy to join the staff team for the First Year Discipleship Program in the Gateways Training School (GTS). One of my many roles included being an R.A., or a “house mama” as the girls in my house liked to refer to me. It was such a privilege to witness and be a part of the beautiful transformation that Jesus brought to their lives.
Every year the GTS spends the month of March in Israel to gain God’s heart for the nation and His people. As we followed the footsteps of Jesus, He was faithful to show up, bringing such life to His word. His voice was so clear to me, leading me into greater depths of courage and desire to folllow His call over my life.
To end the school season, we went on our outreach trip to Germany, France, Switzerland and Italy. Traveling by plane, car, boat, and train, we followed the Lord through Europe, seeking to be His hands and feet to the nations we were in. Testimonies of salvation and healing began on our first night and continued through the end of our trip. Time and time again I was overcome by the goodness of God and the places He has taken me.
After graduation and the departure of all of our students, I remained on the island for an extra month to join in the community life of those who serve year round in Cyprus and to serve on staff at the annual Encounter Camp. Encounter is a ten-day camp designed for youth around the region. This year we had 20 teenagers from Cyprus and Egypt join us for a life-changing time in His presence. Being a part of this was very special as I have spent many years joining with Gateway’s desire to see revival come to the Island and ripple out across to the nations of the Mediterranean.
As I reflect back on the first half of the year, I am awed by all the Lord has done. Personally He brought levels of freedom to my life that I never imagined possible. He transformed every student and staff who committed themselves to a season set apart wholly to Him. He is moving through Europe like never before and raising up young people to be a light to the nations.
As you have prayed and sowed into my life, be encouraged by all the Lord has done. If you would like to hear more about my time in Cyprus, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to joining back in with all God is doing here!
