Update on the Shoebox Christmas Gifts for Pine Ridge
Thank you all for giving so generously and graciously to the children and families on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. This is the sixth year that Wellspring has taken part in the Pine Ridge Reservation Shoebox Ministry led by Pastor Bonnie and Dan in Tennessee, and each year has been more amazing than the last.
First: From Wellspring alone, we sent 166 shoeboxes this year! Along with the 62 shoeboxes from 2nd Baptist in Clinton, TN, 58 shoeboxes from Bethel Church in Clinton, TN, and 7 shoeboxes sent from people around the country who had seen Bonnie’s posts on Facebook, a total of 293 shoeboxes arrived at Pine Ridge on December 4th. That is almost double the 160 total shoeboxes that were given out last year!
It is such an honor to be a part of the Wellspring family. When we first shared with you in October about the needs at Pine Ridge, we waited to see what God would put on your hearts to give. Each Sunday as we received various gifts it was so joyous! Whether through packing a shoebox, giving a financial gift, wrapping the boxes, putting on bows, packing and transporting the cartons, or praying for the families and children, we saw first-hand how each of you heard God’s voice in your hearts and answered with “I can do that!”
And you did it!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to one and all for your gifts in the name of Jesus. Let us rejoice in His faithfulness to all. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Till next year…….Merry Christmas.
