Communion America

Communion America--have you heard of it? Probably most of you haven't. There has been so much going on around Wellspring this fall that we have not had proper time to highlight this event. But I want to share this exciting happening with all of you, even as it rapidly approaches.
Communion America is a four-day gathering upon the National Mall in Washington from October 9th to 12th. It is an appeal to God for his intervention in our nation and a cry to Him to turn a generation back to God. Four days of non-stop worship, prayer and gospel proclamation at our nation's capital. Hundreds of thousands of Christian believers (a million or more?) will be traveling to DC from all across the nation. Each state will be represented by a prayer tent on the Mall. Each evening there will be major gatherings from the main event stage in the center of our nation's crossroads. The highlight of the four days will be Saturday evening--a communal meal and the observance of Holy Communion at a table which will extend the entire length of the Mall from the Capitol Building to the Lincoln Memorial!!
This video link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bj9B3WQwOM will give you a 72 second flavor of the vision and fervor of the gathering.
I am planning to be there, along with Ben and a few members of our Wellspring worship team. There are also several other churches and leaders from across Connecticut who will be there representing our state. You can learn more and tap into the livestream of the main events by going to this website: https://awakenthedawn.com/communionamerica/
Here are a couple of other ways in which you can participate . . . #1) Please pray for those of us from Wellspring who are going down to DC. #2) You can set aside time each day to observe communion in your own personal time with God, or with your family. Plead the blood of Jesus over our nation's many sins and failings and cry out to him for an outpouring of revival and moral reformation across our land. We will be making available the prepackaged communion cups at church this Sunday for you to make use of. You can also observe communion with bread/crackers and juice/wine from your own pantry. #3) I encourage you to set aside political prejudices and preoccupations and press in to God for the turning of Generations Z and A back to the Lord. There are already the beginnings of stirrings of awakening in these younger generations.
Let's believe God for a great shift in our nation! Pastor Rick
