Guatemala Bottle Drop Off Location
Why do we collect returnable bottles and cans? Great question! Our long-term relationship with Hope of Life is the short answer. One of the things that Hope of Life does is Baby Rescues. They work with local people who live in the mountain villages near Hope of Life to rescue sick and malnourished babies. They help the family to get their baby to Hope of Life where he or she receives love and care to grow strong enough to return to their village. These rescues cost money and Bob Vujs's bottle collection efforts have raised $63,000 to date that goes towards these important and life-saving rescues. Wellspring has been happy to partner with Bob on this important project for many years. It started small, but has grown considerably. What used to be a few bottles is now often bags and bags of bottles!
We needed to make a change, so the bottle drop off location for the Guatemala Baby Rescue project has moved. We now have a brand new collection bin that is located on the side of the building near the back of the kitchen. Look for the sign that points the way to the new bin. There is even a paved sidewalk area so you can drive your car closer to the bin if you have a lot of bags to drop off! The rest is easy! Just unlatch and lift the lid. The hydraulics will keep the lid up while you put your bags in the bin. Please close and latch the lid when you are done dropping off your bottles. Please do not open the front doors of the bin. And, please do not drop off bottles in the old location - they block an emergency exit. Thanks for your help in making his change.
