We all carry hope but may also have it hiding out in our attics and basements, cupboards and crawl spaces! Imagine with me the heart of a young mom at MT Pleasant who now has the joy of setting a table for her family with a complete set of matching dishes, serving pieces, tea pot and cups given by Sally Luzietti from her mom’s house! Or how about a little boy named “Johnny” mentored by Chris Ann Tufts at Lincoln Elementary School who because of her and Crosscut Ministries now sleeps in his own bed!

That act of caring and compassion gave hope not only to Johnny but also to his friend and next door neighbor Abraham who asked if there was a bed for him and his two younger brothers, Kelvin and Carlos. So what do you think? Is there a bed for Abraham whose bed broke and now sleeps with his mom and two brothers?

These Kingdom exchanges happen on an individual basis all year long as the need arises and we are made aware, but twice a year “Big L”, a Sidewalk Sunday School outreach ministry to kids and families in the community of MT Pleasant on 16 Armistice St. in New Britain, hosts what we call a “Family Share” in the form of a free tag sale. Residents can come and pick up items they need and will use immediately as well as fill out a “wish list” from which God can provide ongoing blessings.

Our Fall “Family Share” is scheduled for Saturday 9/24/16 from 11:00 to 2:00 in the basketball court area at MT Pleasant. We will be setting up at 10:00 and you can bring items right to us then or call 860-380-7876 or email me at kgriswold16@comcast.net to arrange pick up.

Please take a few moments to look around and ask God what items still in usable condition but not being used in your home, can find a home in and bring hope to our neighbors at MT P. Also, spread the word of this unique opportunity to be a blessing with other family members, coworkers and neighbors. At this time the only thing we ask is please NO CLOTHES!

Thank you as we partner together with our more than able God,
Kathy Griswold

What to give: Please consider sharing your blessings in the way of no longer needed items in your attics, basements, closets with our neighbors at Mount Pleasant. NO CLOTHES PLEASE but any other items big or small that are in reasonable condition, clean and still have use are welcome. Beds, dressers, kitchen tables and chairs, desks, bookcases, computers, household items, kid stuff…these are some of the items in most need. Lets partner together with our generous God to be radical givers and live out the book of Acts having fun, blessing and being blessed!
