Update from Nathan Lincoln’s Senior Capstone Project:

“Thank you to everyone who was able to support not only my project, but the community as a whole. In total I collected just over 1,000 pairs of socks, with about 350 pairs donated from Wellspringers.  I’ve personally been able to pass out roughly 400 pairs of socks to the Free Pasta Dinner shelter attendees at the First Lutheran Church in New Britain. The remaining pairs of socks were used to establish the Central Sock Fund of New Britain that will be available to other local New Britain agencies. Such agencies include The Friendship Place, Salvation Army, The Clothing Closet, and the Sons of Abraham Ministry. I would especially like to thank Jenn Olszyk for supporting and guiding me through this project! Thank you again for all your support!”

Hello! My name is Nathan Lincoln and I am a Senior at Sports Medical Sciences Academy in Hartford.  I have been at Wellsprinnathan-lincolng since I was a child and have volunteered within Wellspring Kids since I was around 12 years old.

For my senior project I am collecting NEW pairs of socks for those who don’t have them.  So far, I have collected 643 pairs through the support of my community, my school, and many citizens of the church.

All donated socks will be distributed end of January at the First Lutheran Church in New Britain during their weekly pasta dinner for the homeless on Wednesday nights.  My family has been volunteering at the pasta dinner since they connected with Wellspring.

This Sunday, January 28th, is the very last Sunday to drop off socks at my table in the cafe.

Thank you for your help and support!

-Nathan
