A Note from Pastor Rick: Covenant Renewal in Review
We recently held the first covenant renewal service for the past few years. Covenant is God’s idea. He has made covenant with us through the death of his Son. We renew that covenant every time we take communion “in remembrance” of Jesus’ death and his salvation. Our Wellspring covenant seeks to define how we want to walk together in community as seek to follow the Lord and serve him together. Pastor Wes gave an excellent overview of the covenant and why we seek to operate together as a congregation in this way.
(You can listen to Pastor Wes’ message by clicking here.)
Following the teaching those who were in attendance were given the opportunity to sign the covenant as an act of the heart to indicate their desire to walk with the Lord in this family we call Wellspring.
For those who weren’t here and would like to be part of this covenant expression you can find a copy of the covenant that you can sign at our Welcome Desk. They will also have copies of the covenant that you can take home with you to be a reminder of how we seek to live together in community.
This also is an opportunity for any of you who so desire to become a formal member of Wellspring Church. Signing the covenant is the first step in this process. The next step is to take a one-time class that explains our membership process and what it means to be a member of this congregation. We have recently offered classes, and will have one additional class for those who were not able to attend. The class will be held on Thursday, May 31st at 7pm in Conference Room 2.
You can sign up at the Welcome Desk to be part of one of these classes or email office@wellspring.net with the date you would like to attend. Note–taking the class does not commit you to becoming a member, but the class explains the process and what is involved in formal membership.
If you have any questions about this process you can call (860-225-0661 x 111) or email me (rick@wellspring.net) and I will do my best to answer them.
Blessings,
Pastor Rick
