Update the Pastors: Summer Happenings at Wellspring
Summer is upon us and that means all kinds of things—vacations, picnics, ball games, family outings. It also means some special happenings at Wellspring. We want to make sure you are aware of what’s happening and encourage you to take full advantage of these opportunities.
This Sunday, June 10, we move to our summer schedule of one service at 10:00 AM. It is really good to have everyone together in one service and see people that we might not ordinarily see. On both June 10 and June 17, we are having a baptism service—always an exciting time to hear testimonies of how God has changed lives. Through the summer we will be teaching on the parables of Jesus. There is also an exciting summer program on Sunday mornings for Wellspring Kids.
New: Summer Wednesdays – Evening Service at 7:00 pm beginning July 11 through August 29. These informal services will provide an additional opportunity for worship and learning—and for encountering the Lord together. If you are traveling on the weekends, these gatherings afford an opportunity to stay connected to fellowship and worship. We are planning a variety of experiences for these midweek times together. We are excited about what the Lord has in store for us on these summer nights.
Hebrews 10:25 instructs us to “not forsake the assembling of ourselves together,” but to make sure we continue to stay connected to the Lord and to one another for encouragement and mutual edification. Summer can be a time of intentional spiritual advance, and we hope that is the case for us this summer.
We also want to take this opportunity to inform you of a current need. As we head into summer, we are behind in our congregational giving. We want to make you aware of this because our giving is one way we honor the Lord and because our giving is how we fund the many ministries that we undertake together at Wellspring. We seldom speak of finances at Wellspring, but we want the congregation to be made aware of this need so that you can be praying and that you might assess your own giving patterns.
Looking forward to a great summer together!
