September 2018 Financial Update

Malachi 3:10-12 “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, “says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit,” says the LORD Almighty. “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the LORD Almighty.

I want to share with all of you who call Wellspring your home that as of the end of September 2018 our operating budget is in the deficit of $55,000.   Our budget giving (that is, our tithes and offerings) as of September 30th is $808,947 and our actual expenses total $864,550.   While it is not unusual to be in a deficit position coming out of the summer with lower attendance and giving, I must share that we are in a greater deficit position than in year’s past.

In order to conserve on spending as much as possible and to position ourselves to finish the year in the black, we have placed a spending freeze on all non-essential budget spending.  While most of our budget needs are fixed costs, there are some areas where we can put off spending or reschedule projects for a later time.

I want to encourage all of us to inquire of the Lord regarding how He may direct in our own personal giving in tithes and offerings to help close the deficit gap.  We continue to rely on the Lord as our Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and the faithful giving of our congregation.

I will update you again next month.  In the meantime, if you have any questions please feel free to email me at pam@wellspring.net.

Faithfully,
Pamela Zinn
