For the month of February, Wellspring is looking at the kingdom principle of generosity. What does it mean to live generously? How can we reflect God’s generous heart through our actions and lifestyle?
It’s good for us to teach about generosity and ask ourselves these lifestyle shaping questions. But we don’t want to only talk about generosity. We want to awaken generosity in our hearts and enter the joy and flow of living a generous lifestyle.
We invite you to join your Wellspring family in an act of generosity.
We have selected New Life ll, a men’s transitional housing ministry right here in New Britain. It’s founded by and run by Pastor’s Dana and Evelyn Smith, who have a deep passion to help men become grounded in God and able to live stable and productive lives. Dana and Evelyn have recently made Wellspring their church and we are enjoying becoming their church family.
It costs $7,000 a year per man for the housing and support programs at New Life ll. Some men receive state assistance. All men are challenged to get jobs, but many need assistance during these critical months of transition.
On Sunday, February 24, Wellspring will take a special offering to sponsor a man at New Life ll. Our goal is to cover all the costs for one man for a full year. Please consider how you may contribute. It’s easy to look at what we have and decide how much we want to give, but I encourage you to specifically pray and ask the Lord how much he would have you give. Let’s trust him, let’s activate generosity in our hearts, and let’s bless the man who will receive this gift, and also open a flow of God’s generosity and blessing to us individually and to Wellspring.
I pray now that this act of generosity will bring joy and provision in more ways than we know, that seeds of generosity will bear much fruit, and that God’s kingdom will come and God’s name will be glorified!
P.S. – If you will not be in church on the 24th, or choose to give online, please use our website Wellspring.net, or our mobile app WellspringCT and follow the online giving or texting instructions.
