Family Promise: Volunteer Opportunities and Spring Fundraiser on May 4th
How quickly time flies!! It is hard to believe that Wellspring has been partnered with Family Promise of Central CT for over two years. We have hosted families for 10 weeks over that time and formed many wonderful relationships along the way, both with the families and each other. We’ve hosted in a way to honor these families as they navigate being homeless with children — one of the most difficult situations in life.
We can only do this with your help. We would like to thank those who have faithfully served over these two years, and look forward to what our next year of hosting holds for us. If you would like to join this group and join in the fun, we have plenty of opportunities for you to step into this ministry. You can of course join us in hosting a breakfast, evening or overnight shift with our guests. If that isn’t possible for you, we have lots of other opportunities to offer. You can prepare a meal at your home and deliver it to Wellspring, or donate needed supplies for breakfast or snacks, or help us with laundry at the end of the week, and of course we are always open to new ideas to help.
On Sunday, May 5th we will have a table in the café with information and a time to answer any questions you may have, but of course you can contact your Wellspring coordinators Val Vujs valvujs@gmail.com or Cindy DiMauro cdimauro@comcast.net at any time to ask us questions.
Another opportunity to get involved is to attend the Family Promise Annual Spring Fundraiser on May 4th.
It takes funds to transport our families to the various churches as well as the cost associated with the day center where families spend their daytime hours. This year’s theme is the Kentucky Derby and includes a silent auction.
