Wellspring Responds To The State Of Our Nation

As citizens of this country we are all a part of the shaking, the frustration, the uncertainty, and the need for change. The fact is, many of us feel limited or even powerless to affect change, even if we knew how or what to change.
However, we are also citizens of God’s kingdom where we are not powerless because God is our powerful hope.

Join Us As We Respond:

In Conversation – Next Thursday, June 11 at 7pm online

In Prayer
This Thursday, June 4, the whole Wellspring family is invited to join us in the church parking lot for an hour of prayer. This is not a demonstration or a protest. Rather, we will lay down before the Lord our political and personal perspectives, so that we can seek his help and his answer for us and for our nation. Prayer is not the least we can do. Rather it is one conversation that we can be confident will actually bear fruit!

We are planning a simple (but powerful) format of worship, led prayers, and personal prayers. Everyone is welcome. You may stay near your cars or you can join us near the stage, wherever you feel safe and comfortable (and allow others to feel safe and comfortable). You may even want to bring your own lawn chair. From the church grounds we will appeal to our God, our Father, and our righteous, just and merciful Lord.

In Teaching
Pastor Rick will bring a teaching at our Sunday services this week. He will address the current state of our country and how we as a church can respond through our actions, emotions, and hearts. For those attending the services at the church at 9am and 11am, we will also take communion together. We remind you that if you do want to attend, please register as we are limited to 100 people in each service. See the other article in this E-news for registration.

In Conversation
Next Thursday, June 11, at 7 PM when pastor Rick usually shares a “fireside chat”, he will instead facilitate a conversation with other leaders, asking hard questions about race, the church, and Wellspring. We will share more as our plans come together over the next week. These “fireside chats” are Facebook live events. Once the event has concluded, we will make the video available on the website and the mobile app.

Wellspring is not helpless and you are not hopeless. Together we believe that the church is Christ’s body to bring his kingdom to our world. Through these initial responses, and more to follow, we follow Jesus’ instruction as we pray for his kingdom to come and his will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven.
