Remember, Receive, and Respond – A Worship Foundation

Hey Wellspring fam!
I’m writing to lay a foundation for our times of worship.
His presence is a high priority for Wellspring. His living nearness is why we gather. He is all and everything and has given His life through the body and blood of Jesus for us to enter into His presence. We gather to worship, experience His presence, and to encourage one another in our pursuit of Him together. We do this both in-person and also through the live-streaming of our services.
The posture of our heart can direct the flow of our experience of His presence.
Psalm 100:4-5
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and bless his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.”
Psalm 103:1-2
“Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—”
These Psalms give perspective on how we are to enter His presence. We enter with thanksgiving and with praise, remembering who He is and what He does and has done. When we remember His steadfast love, we receive it again. What can our response be but thanksgiving and praise!
My prayer for us as Wellspring is that these would not just be words, but living truths within us. Whether we find ourselves walking through the doorposts into our sanctuary or signing onto our devices for our livestream, I pray that we would remember that He is good, and receive again His enduring love, and that we would respond with praise and thanksgiving from our inmost being!
With this as a foundation, I will be sharing some thoughts about our corporate worship in the weeks ahead.
Much love in Christ!
