2022 Shoebox Christmas Gifts for Pine Ridge

We are running way behind the number of shoe boxes that we sent last year. Can you help us? Drop off your shoe boxes in the Cafe this Sunday Nov. 13 or bring them to the office on Monday, Nov. 14 or Tuesday Nov. 15 from 9 am – 4 pm either day. This will allow enough time for us to ship to South Dakota in order to arrive in time for Christmas.
If you are unable to get to church to pick up and drop off a shoe box, or if you don’t have time to make one up, you can make a donation towards the shoe boxes. For every $35 given, Wellspring will make up and ship one shoe box.

Wo’iyopastake Ministry [pronounced: WO-ee-yo-PASH-ta-ke] is a ministry to encourage, support, strengthen & help the Lakota pastors and other Christian leaders on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. This reservation is among the poorest places in the entire USA and many families really struggle to make ends meet.
Wellspring supports the important work Wo’iyopastake Ministry does throughout the year, but at Christmas time we have a special opportunity to bless the children on the reservation. By putting together a shoebox Christmas gift, we can bring joy to boys and girls who would otherwise receive very little at Christmas, while also reminding them that they are loved and valued by people around the country and by their Heavenly Father.
Last Christmas, through your great generosity, we were able to send 352 shoebox Christmas gifts to these children, who are among the neediest in the whole United States. We are running way behind that number this year. We’d love to meet or exceed that number this year, but we need your help.
We will once again be collecting shoebox Christmas gifts for the children of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. On October 23rd and October 30th you can pick up a plastic shoe box at the table as you come in the door. There will be instructions detailing how to fill it. If you prefer, you may use your own plastic shoe box. Please DO NOT WRAP the box. Also, if you are able, please include $8.00 to help cover shipping. Shoeboxes will be collected on November 6th and 13th. Thank you in advance for being the hands of Jesus to those in need.
There will be a table as you walk in the door on the following Sundays:
Oct. 23 & Oct 30: PICK UP – We will be handing out the cardboard shoeboxes and information.
Nov. 6 & Nov. 13: DROP OFF – You can drop off your box at the table before the service on these Sundays, but the sooner the better so we can prepare them for shipping.
How to Prepare the Christmas Shoeboxes
1. Shoebox
Use either the carboard shoebox we give you or any cardboard shoebox (average size). Do not wrap.

Fill the box with a variety of small gifts that will bring delight to a child. Please DO NOT WRAP the box.
