Shakan Global Mission Update
Greetings from Uganda!
I’d like to extend my appreciation to my Wellspring Family for the warm send off, the prayers and the financial support. I have felt the love continue to carry me as I have been in Uganda for almost a month. Praise God, so much has happened through the power of prayer.
The School Outreach of providing school supplies and sanitary napkins led to 16 teenagers giving their lives to Christ! The teachers and Headmaster of the school next door to the property were so excited by the outpouring of love, they have asked my Ugandan pastor to come back and preach at school assemblies.
Through a divine connection, the Shakan Mission Uganda team met with Robert Katende, the actual chess coach from the Disney movie, The Queen of Katwe. Robert started a ministry in the slums of Kampala, which has led poverty stricken children to become chess champions and productive Christian leaders. Currently, he has Chess Academies internationally with the mission of transforming lives and developing Christian leaders, one move at a time. We will be meeting him in 2 weeks to discuss a program at the school next door and potentially for adults.
I had the opportunity to purchase one half of an acre next door to the Guest House. It has lots of fruit trees to provide food for the Guest House and quiet places for guests to pray.
There are more stories that you can check out on the website blog.
