Prayer for the Nation
Thursdays 7pm in Room B5 (lower level) at Wellspring Church
The Lord instructs us to pray for our nation and our leaders. We find it easy to comment, critique, and lament where we are as a nation. But we also have the privilege and responsibility to intercede. We can position our hearts in humility before the Lord and seek his mercy and wisdom. Below is the perspective the Lord has placed on Linda Guite’s heart. Please consider joining her and other members of the Wellspring family as they bring our nation before the Lord every week.
(To be very clear, the prayer time will be for the Lord’s direction, wisdom, and mercy. This will not be a forum to promote political agendas or attack political leaders or our government. I think the Lord already has a much more complete perspective than we do anyway.)
Linda Guite’s invitation:
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chron. 7:14
The banner over us is: “one nation under God.” We know where two or more are gathered in His name He will be in our midst.
We hear the phrase: “if you see something, say something.” I wish to say: “if you see something, do something – gather and pray.” Join us to pray together for our nation.
There are no long-term commitments, no age requirements, no particular political beliefs, no special abilities required – just a desire to meet with our King and pray that His kingdom comes here and we receive all God has for this nation. There is also no need to join us every week. Come any Thursday you can and join us in praying that God’s will be done on earth as in heaven.
