The Underground NE - Get Involved

The Underground New England is a faith based non-profit organization that exists to eradicate human trafficking in CT and New England through awareness, prevention, and intentional survivor support. The Underground’s vision is to transform a culture of human trafficking and exploitation through the healing love of Christ Jesus to affect a God-shift that compels change, to provide intentional survivor support that will pave a pathway to freedom and wholeness for survivors, and to educate and sensitize our communities through awareness events and prevention strategies.

The Underground recognizes that volunteers play an essential role in the success of their organization. As a Freedom Ally, your time and talents contribute to the bigger goal of ending human trafficking in CT and beyond.

Some volunteer opportunities with The Underground NE include;
Freedom Ambassador which plays a key role at community events by assisting The Underground at their information table, answering questions, and handing out material. In this role, you will speak for The Underground in your own circle of influence such as houses of worship, workplaces, civic organizations, and schools.  
Freedom Assistants helps The Underground staff with general administrative and large-scale projects, handling duties such as printing, sorting, stuffing envelops, and preparing for mailing.
Freedom Event Partners assist at awareness and outreach events. You will be given a thorough understanding of The Underground, as well as any specific event to which you are assigned.
Freedom Fundraisers plan and execute events, campaigns on behalf of The Underground for fundraising purposes.
Freedom Movers/Drivers assist with the relocation of mentees’ personal belongings to their new home. You will also assist with packing up donated items and transport for storage.
Freedom Outreach Partners assist with packing backpacks, holiday bags, and outreach bags for distribution to DCF and other organizations partners. You will assist with picking up, sorting, dropping off, and deliveries.
Freedom Educators teach life skills training classes to mentees. You will work directly with mentees to instruct them on skills ranging from cooking, cleaning, organizing, and other identified skills gap. (background check required).

All volunteers must be 18 years or older, have expressed an interest in helping others heal, are flexible and compassionate and demonstrate a commitment to Christ and the message of transformative love.
