In the second miraculous sign that John highlights in his gospel, he focuses our attention upon the kind of "believing that leads to life." This, John tells us in John 20: 30-31, is his purpose for writing his account of Jesus. A young son is healed in this account, but the author's focus is pointed more toward what it means to "fully believe" than upon the miraculous display of power. We will explore what this has to say to us today, some 20 centuries later.
